Verizon Galaxy Note 4 and Note edge receiving updates to N910VVRU2CPJ2 & N915VVRU2CPJ2

If your Galaxy Note 4 and Galaxy Note edge is from Verizon then you must be aware that there’s a new OTA updates heading on its way this week. This updates will eventually contains another Android security patch on both devices to which now contains the November package of combined Google and Samsung vulnerabilities security patches. The Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note 4 (SM-N910V) will bump to build version MMB29M.N910VVRU2CPJ2 from previous MMB29M.N910VVRU2CPG2. While on the other hand, the Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note edge (SM-N915V) will also move to build version MMB29M.N915VVRU2CPJ2 from MMB29M.N915VVRU2CPG2.

However, the update is still base in Android Marshmallow version 6.0.1, and there isn’t any certain reports that were reliable enough to emphasize that this device will get an upgrade to Nougat. But anyway, we are still hoping that device will also get the same treatment like its successor the Galaxy Note 5, since the Galaxy Note 7 has been recalled due to its failure.

What’s new: November Android device security enhancements

The November 2016 packaged is combination of Google’s Common Vulnerability and Exposures  (CVE) and  Samsung Vulnerabilities and Exposures (SVE) security pacthes .

You may check the update manually either via Over-The-Air or using big red’s software upgrade assistant, if you haven’t received the notification message yet. Just make sure to make backup of your important data and files first, and then recharge your device battery before taking the OTA updates.

To check for the update just navigate into your device Settings > About device > Check for updates.
