The Samsung Galaxy S2 Plus is one of Samsung flagship earlier this year. This phone is originally shipped with Android version 4.1.2 Jelly Bean, but recently Samsung has began rolling out the Android 4.2.2 software update on the Samsung Galaxy S II (GT-I910P) with NFC (near field communication) variants in Germany. Noting that there are two types of the Samsung Galaxy S2 Plus, the non-NFC which posses the model number (GT-I9105) and with the NFC chip version – model number (GT-I9105P).

So, the recent official update that has yet released officially is for the Samsung Galaxy S2 plus (GT-i905P) only and owners of the (GT-I9105) should wait for a while since this update have been rolled out in stages, and that means not everyone can get it one at a time.

 Some Features of Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean

The Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean comes on some variety of features which can be found on Samsung Galaxy S4. The ‘Moves Apps to SD” allowing owners moving some certain apps and files directly to the micro SD card which quitely saves a lot of space from the phone’s memory. Also the lockscreen is now added with new effects to choose from either from ‘Ripple Effect ‘ or ‘Light Effect’. There’s also new added clock and weather widgets and the quick toggle buttons in the notification panel, and the status bar now becomes transparent.

Among all else there are also quite noticeable changes when it comes to speed and smoothness comparing between the 4.1.2 and 4.2.2. You’ll experience these differences upon scrolling, navigating and browsing while loading some pages. A few quite pre-installed apps seems also worked better and faster. So, better check it out by yourself.

How to update Samsung Galaxy S2 Plus GT-I9105P  to 4.2.2 Jelly Bean

Advance users that already knows about tweaking their devices, can manually update to 4.2.2. But typical owners that doesn’t know much about flashing, or rooting stuff you can get this update using Kies.
This update will be soon available worldwide, so if you can’t see this update coming in your country then you should wait and be patient a little while.

Here’s the stock I9105PXXUBMG8 and flash it with Odin through PDA button area

Odin Quick Guide:
Step 1. Grab the stock Firmware from above source.
Step 2. Download Odin3_v3.07  and install the USB driver..
Step 3. Extract the ( file using winrar, 7zip, winzip or any extracting tool you have in your computer.
Step 4. Run Odin, click the PDA button then browse to the file and load it/
(make sure not to tick the “Re-Partition” checkbox)
Step 5. Reboot the Galaxy S2 Plus into download mode – Press and hold Volume Down,Volume Up and Power button. Then press volume up to continue into download mode.
Step 6. Connect the device to the computer using the supplied USB cable.
Step 7. Once the device  recognized with Odin (ID:COM box highlighted in bluish color)
Step 8. Hit START button.
Step 9. Wait until it finishes flashing, then once the device reboots unplug the phone from the computer.

How to Root

You can root it using this file Jerry_recovery.tar.md5., give thank’s to [OurJerry] from XDA. This root file already included with a touch recovery, and specifically built and works to root on firmware build  I9105PXXUBMG8.
