U.S Cellular Galaxy Note 3 4.4.2 KitKat Update (N900R4TYUCNAB) Brings Camera Touch to Focus Enhancements and more

Both U.S Cellular Samsung Galaxy Note 3 (SM-N900R) and the Galaxy S4 (SCH-R970) has just started receiving the official Android 4.4.2 KitKat update. As of today, U.S Cellular officially announced the released of the KitKat update which is dubbed in firmware build number N900R4TYUCNAB. This is an update from 4.3 Jelly Bean N900R4TYUBMK2 rolled out earlier on December and it’s quite very interesting that U.S Cellular is following Sprint footstep on dominating U.S. Android users for a fast and earliest update as possible, while other U.S. carriers has no reports yet for now.

The 4.4.2 KitKat update is now live via over-the-air (OTA update) or by using Samsung Kies.

Android 4.4.x (Kit Kat) upgrades include:
Feature Benefit
Phone Dialer – the new phone app automatically prioritizes your contacts based on the people you talk to the most. You can also search for nearby places and businesses, your contacts, or people in your Google Apps domain.
Camera – enhanced the “touch to focus” option with a new circular, on screen control that can be dragged by your finger around the viewfinder to adjust a photo’s focus and exposure.
Hangouts – with the new Hangouts app, all of your SMS and MMS messages are together in the same app, alongside your other conversations and video calls.
Just say”Ok Google” – you don’t need to touch the screen to get things done. When on your home screen* or in Google Now, just say “Ok Google” to launch voice search, send a text, get directions or even play a song
Emoji everywhere – sometimes words can’t express how you feel. For that, there’s Emoji, the colorful Japanese characters, now available on Google Keyboard.

OS upgrade to Android 4.4.2 (KitKat)
New Lock Screen Access
Media Controls – full-screen album art and media controls when listening to music
Camera Shortcut – access the Camera application right from the lock screen
SMS App Chooser – select a default application for sending and receiving SMS text messages
Restyled Status and Navigation Bars – status and navigation bars are translucent and can sit on top of apps, along with simplified status bar icons
Consolidated Location Settings – location services are integrated and more detailed by new Location menu
Expanded Emoji Icons
Wireless Printing – supports printing over Wi­-Fi and Bluetooth
Prevention Information pop-up message is suppressed.
