Sprint have announced that the upcoming Jelly Bean update for Samsung Galaxy SIII (SPH-L710) will bring the real features of the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean such as the Multi-view Split Screen multitasking support that allows users to split screen in multitasking activity. The multi-view function hasn’t been included from earlier released of the 4.1 Jelly Bean builds – L710VPBMB1 and L710VPBLJ7. Sprint says that the upcoming updates build version will be L710VPBMD4 and this update not only features the Muti-view but also added a security fix for the home screen, new Camera feature and Gallery, addition of Paper Artist and Bulk SMS enhancements.
This update will be rolling out in a first come first serve basis via OTA (over the air). A notification messages will prompt to the owners of the Galaxy S3 telling that the update is available and simply install or also manually check for software update via Settings>> About Device>> Check for software update.
In addition, I think this might be Sprint’s part of marketing strategy since the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S4 runs in Android 4.2.2. The Multi-view, Paper Artist, New gallery designs and Camera enhancements features is not new to us anymore since this has been already included on international Samsung Galaxy S3 a quite while ago. But anyway, this is still a good job from Sprint side, since there are some and I don’t know how many users dying-hard to get this Multi-view functionality. Great! great, if you needs root on this version, just visit this site again and will point you to the XDA guy who knows a lot of this Sprint Galaxy S3 rooting stuff.
