Both of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 (3G+WiFi GT-P3100) and the WiFi only (WiFi only GT-P3110) variants has started receiving the official Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean upgrades. This one year old tablet which was originally released powered with Android 4.0.3 (Ice Cream Sandwich) OS has now finally getting a one-step ahead from other devices. Though, the update has not been seen worldwide but we have been spotted the official firmware releases from Samsung’s firmware server that already hits France and UK, other Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 owners worldwide who bought this tablet should be patient , for this time being. The roll out is in phases, which means not everyone can receive this update at the same time, and only those first listed countries chosen by Samsung’s software support team will receive this update and enjoys this said 4.2.2.
This latest Samsung and Google’s Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean updates brings with it a number of new features and enhancements for better performance, additional tweaks and support for the Camera and application like the Gallery, lock screen widgets, Samsung S Pen Daydream support and a lot more.
This update has rolled out several days ago hitting the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 3G (GT-p3100) in France which was bundled into a firmware build (P3100XXDMG6) and then followed on Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 WiFi only (GT-P3110) in UK with firmware build (P3110XXDMH1). So, just watch out for this update coming in your region too. Just don’t forget to kept on checking this update either by using Kies or through over-the-air update (OTA).
To recap the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0, it was made available worldwide on April 2012, it is fitted with a 7 inch PLS LCD capacitive touchscreen display and unlike any older tablets it offers a 16 million colors that maximize the resolution of 600 x 1024 pixels. The 3.15 megapixel camera has the capability to capture videos and photographs to 2048×1536 pixels resolution. It also equipped with Geo-tagging and a smile detection.
