For those who are rocking the Samsung Galaxy S4 GT-I9500, the Android 5.0.1 Lollipop update has officially began to roll out. It seems that it had to be the Galaxy S4 GT-I9500 (Exynos) that came out first and getting ahead of the Galaxy S4 GT-I9505 (Snapdragon) version. Though a Lollipop firmware had to leaked few days ago, but the official update is really out now. It is currently being held available in select countries at this time being while others may need to wait a bit of time until Samsung will start to roll it out worldwide. Samsung had chosen and sends out the first OTA update which took first in Russia, which is dubbed with build number I9500XXUHOA7 then followed in India which got the I9500XXUHOAA.
Since the Samsung Galaxy S4 had skipped the Android 4.4.4 KitKat and the Android 5.0 Lollipop updates which we have been seen in Samsung Galaxy S5. Now users will directly upgrade from Android 4.4.2 KitKat to Android 5.0.1 Lollipop. Samsung might have changed the plan since that the Android 5.0 Lollipop is known with severe issues, according to reports. One downside of the update is the compatibility issues on some outdated apps. It causes unwanted force closes and lag issues that might also needs to be updated to work well on the Lollipop OS.
Hopefully, the Android 5.0.1 Lollipop is still fresh, so we had to expect some minor glitches. As long as Android development continues so there is nothing to worry about any bugs. So, just let your Samsung Galaxy S4 ride-on to the latest Android Lollipop craze.
