Root Telus and Sasktel Samsung Galaxy S3 I747M Runs in ICS I747MVLALH1 with Unroot Guide

If you want to root your Samsung Galaxy S3 SGH-I747M with Telus or Sasktel carrier that already runs with firmware build  I747MVLALH1 Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS), here’s a rooting method that works without the hassles of tripping the flash binary counter. This is the same rooting technique that also used on other Canadian Galaxy S3’3 like Bell and Rogers, but it uses another root injected I747MVLALH1 stock ROM, specifically for Telus and Sasktel carriers only.

What’s the big differences on this Rooting process between the old method?

This is a rooting procedures that will ease you from pain of voiding its warranty. Occasional rooting method before, will automatically triggers the binary flash counter of your device. Samsung has input a system security unto your Galaxy S3 and once tripped by means of rooting or installing any unofficial customization will result to void its warranty period.

Although,  it can be reverse by now using a special tool, but its a little bit tricky if you are not an advance user or not too familiar about rooting. So, to have an ease of more tricky tweaks, this rooting technique is much simpler than other rooting methods,  for it will not trip the flash binary counter of your Galaxy S3. One good thing about this, is that it can be easily restore back – if you want to unroot anytime or return it back to its original factory stock firmware without more hassles resetting the binary flash counter in-case in need of warranty.

Guide: How to Root Telus and Sasktel Samsung Galaxy S3 SGH-I747M runs in ICS 4.0.4 I747MVLALH1.

This rooting method is more likely just installing the original firmware to your phone, but in manual method by using of Odin downloader tool. The firmware used on this process is the original firmware previously released by Samsung from Kies or OTA, but has been already injected with a rooted system image, so once installed it will add root to your Telus and or Sasktel Samsung Galaxy S3 SGH-I747M automatically.

How to UnRoot: Remove Root on Bell Samsung Galaxy S3 SGH-I747M

I also added a guide on how to easily unroot it for future use, so that you will not get lost and confuse if you want to restore it back again to its original factory default settings. Because when your Galaxy s3 is already rooted you can’t get any official firmware update from Kies or OTA anymore.,  “fail updating on kies or OTA”. The process is still the same above, but this time you need to flash the original, unmodified and unrooted I747MVLALH1 stock ROM.

Grab  the stock ICS firmware here, unzip or extract it after downloaded, so that you’ll get the odin flashable tar file.

Again, load it on Odin’s PDA button.

That’s it! Any questions and help on how to root and unroot  Telus and Sasktel Samsung Galaxy S3 I747M?  Just let us know.

  1. Hi
I have a question but i’ve not yet found the answer.
I have a rooted BELL S3 MVLALH1 running 4.0.1 and i tripped the binary counter when rooting. I got Triangle Away and counter now says 0 but status is still showing as modified.

My question: What is easiest method of upgrading to 4.2.1 without loosing root and without having to un-root for an OTA then routing it back? Besides, i tried the OTA after running Voodoo and the green android fell over with an nterrogation point. I used CWM and rebooted back in ice cream sandwich 4.0.1

I have looked high and low for a root injected 4.2.1 for my specific BELL i747MVLALH1 model but none to be found. I also use directory bind and i have lots of stuff on my ext card. If i lose root most of them wont work…including Voodoo root keeper. What am i doing wrong here? Should i wait for somebody out there to offer a rooted 4.2.1 kernel for BELL i747MVLALH1 then try to install it over my already rooted S3? How does this work? Many have suggested un-rooting with stock then looking for a rooted kernel. I don’t see any out there for my model. Again, I cannot install stock samsung jelly bean through OTA. It refuses to install.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Dan Steele
