How to Root DDLSC 4.1.2 Jelly Bean on Samsung Galaxy Note N7000

You can use PhilZ-cwm6  with CWM 6.0.3.0 based recovery to root. Philz-CWM6 root kernel does not just root your Samsung Galaxy Note but it also adds up the enhanced clockworkmod 6 full touch based recovery on your device in just simple steps ahead. This root is absolutely safe for it has a “stock based kernel”  to avoid brick bug issues. This is also a handy rooting technique by way of  just flashing it via Stock Recovery, or if you already have installed custom recovery and even in Odin without the frustrating yellow triangle. There are two root packages you can choose, either install it via stock recovery or the tar file which can be flash through Odin. You can grab the files here – forum.xda-developers.com.

Method 1:  Install Root via Stock Recovery Update zip

Recommended Method – Recovery (.zip) packages instructions – Will also root your phone

  1. They come in the form of -signed.zip files that can be flashed in stock recovery 3e: No Yellow Triangle
  2. Download PhilZ-cwm6-DDLSC-ODD-4.90.8-signed.zip
  3. Copy or Put the previously downloaded PhilZ-cwm6-DDLSC-ODD-4.90.8-signed.zip file on your external sd card (not internal)
  4. Boot into stock recovery (volume up+home+power) button
  5. Select “apply update from external storage”. Use volume keys to toggle and home or power button to select option.
  6. Now select the PhilZ-cwm6-DDLSC-ODD-4.90.8-signed.zip file you copied in previous step.
  7. You are rooted + new PhilZ-cwm6 kernel with CWM6

Method 2:  Install Root using Odin

  1. Grab Odin3_v3.07
  2. Grab and install the USB driver (install it)
  3. Start odin3 and configure its options: DO NOT Tick “Re-partition” options.
  4. Click on the PDA button then load the .tar file
  5. Boot the device into download mode (Volume down+Home+Power) button
  6. Connect phone in download mode to PC via USB
  7. Press start to flash the tar.md5 package
  8. To root, download the root file from here ( Choose Method 1)

  1. downloaded PhilZ-cwm6-DDLSC-ODD-4.90.8.tar.md5 and flashed using pc odin. is my phone rooted? or any other steps to root?

  2. i tried PhilZ-cwm6-DDLSC-ODD-4.90.8-signed.zip method, on galaxy note, it worked like a charm. no problems,

  3. i did the procedures. after some time of rebooting the phone hangs. nothing works. not even the touch. when i remove the battery and start again the same thing happens. what should i do? 🙁

  4. Fantastic help, rooted my note N7000 DDLSC build in 2 mins. Spent the next hour uninstalling 17 inbuilt useless apps. Note I’m the king of my N7000.

Just a footnote to new users: once you select the PhilZ-cwm6-DDLSC-ODD-4.90.8-signed.zip to run it, you will see the file being run. Once it’s done, return to the main menu using the top most option (browse to the top most selection using volume up key and press power button). In the main menu, select reboot option (again the top most option)

  5. Can I download “PhilZ-cwm6-DDLSC-ODD-5.11.2-signed.zip” for my Galaxy Note 1 GT-N7000 (Baseband version: N7000DDLS6, Kernel version: 3.031-906407, se.infra@SEP-128 #3, SMP PREEMPT Wed Mar 6 19:53:40 KST 2013, Build number: JZO54K.N7000DDLSC? Or should I download only “PhilZ-cwm6-DDLSC-ODD-4.90.8-signed.zip”?
