Root I9505XXUEMJ5 Android 4.3 Galaxy S4 GT-I9505 Trip KNOX Counter to 0x1

Gaining root on Samsung Galaxy S4 Android 4.3 I9505XXUEMJ5 is still easy as before, but this time most of us have found some difficulties dealing with the new KNOX warranty void counter. Although, there is already new root method recently developed that can avoid tripping this KNOX warranty void flag, but it was available and only worked with Samsung Galaxy Note 3, while the Galaxy S4 has not yet been found. But let’s hope from our trusted developers somebody can unleashed any root method without harming the device KNOX security suite.

I think I can only recommend this root method for those devices that already tripped the KNOX warranty void counter which is now set to ‘0x1’. Those who still got there KNOX counter still intact to official count as ‘0x0’, I suggest you should refrain from rooting if you don’t badly needed it for now.

The untouched, unrooted, and never been customized  Galaxy S4 I9505 should look like this.

Here’s how it looks like when the KNOX Warranty void flag has been tripped. As you can see the counter now shows ‘0x1’ as opposed to the untouched default count as ‘0x0’.

One problem here, is that this cannot be reset back to normal, unlikely before the binary flash counter can be reverse back to original state using the “Triangle Away” apps, but this time  it will not work anymore.

Again, this root guide is intended to use with Samsung Galaxy S4 GT-I9505 with Qualcomm Snapdragon only, and this should not be used to root on other variants such as the Galaxy S4 GT-I9500 which has the Exynos processor. Prior to use this root method on other SamsungGalaxy S4 variants other than with the specific model number GT-I9505 may result to possible bricks. You may first check your device model number and software info by hitting

Settings –> About Phone –> Check the model number and software version.
