Canadian users of the Galaxy Note 3 (SM-N900W8) models has just started receiving the Android 4.4.2 KitKat update. Last week we also have seen the rolling out of the Samsung Galaxy S4 KitKat update in Canada, and now finally hitting the Galaxy Note 3 devices. Carriers such as Bell and Rogers has just pushed the KitKat update, which the OTA update comes in firmware build (N900W8VLUCNB7), other carriers including Telus, Virgin, Wind,Videotron, Mobilicity, Virgin Mobile, Koodo, Fido, Sasktel and Eastlink may follow too as we already spotted the 4.4.2 KitKat (N900W8VLUCNB7) firmware files that are now made available from Samsung Kies server.
The arrival of the KitKat update in Canadian Galaxy Note 3 models may seems a bit delayed, but the waiting time has finally over now. The N900W8VLUCNB7 4.4.2 KitKat update will now replaced the previous software update build 4.3 N900W8VLUBMJ4.
The KitKat update brings some changes in the look and over-all design of the Android ecosytem. Some changes are the new white status bar icons, a camera shortcut found in the lock screen and some improvements on UI settings.
So just make sure your phone has not been rooted so you’ll received this update without any issues.
So those who may want to update now, may simply head-over to your phone’s Settings>>About device>>Check for update. The 4.4.2 KitKat update N900W8VLUCNB7 has a hefty size of 437.05MB.
Tips: Before performing an update just try to move all your apps to your device storage. There are certain issues about the SD card for writing files that has been found and it occurs right after updating to the KitKat OS.
