After the Galaxy Alpha’s launching, it is set to be available in Canada by the end of the month. When it does, the pioneering metal phone will be priced at $700 outright. But Galaxy Alpha might soon not be the only one to have a metal clad cover. According to rumours, Samsung has been working on a more affordable metal phone. The catch is that unlike Alpha, this device, dubbed as the SM-A500 will be donned with metal entirely.
Taken from SamMobile, the device will be clad with full metal, having no removable back. It will also carry with it a Snapdragon 400 chipset accompanied by a 5-inch 720p Super AMOLED display, an 8MP camera on the back as well as a 5MP front camera, 16 GB of interal storage and support for storage expansion via MicroSD. Not bad for a mid-range version of Galaxy Alpha, right?
Despite of this, rumours also tell the downer of this possible device, including that of not having a waterproofing or dust resistance which GS5 offers. Several of you may classify this as a low-end or mid-range device which usually suffers from clunky designs. But having a uniquely metal build can set Samsung’s stand at an advantage and make the device be ahead of others within its level. Due to this, Samsung will likely set its bar somewhat high for this mid-range portion.
