Those who had been rocking AT&T’s Samsung Galaxy Note 2 (SGH-I317) your official Android 4.4.2 KitKat upgrade has finally arrived. The KitKat upgrade is dubbed with build number I317UCUCNE5 is now live via over the air or OTA update. The update will bring the Beats Music App and offers improved performance and new features.
Here are AT&T’s released note about the KitKat 4.4.2 I317UCUCNE5 update:
AT&T released Android 4.4.2 (KitKat) software update for the Samsung Galaxy Note II (SGH-I317) on June 25, 2014. This update is available to customers to download via Firmware Over the Air (FOTA) and Wi-Fi is required.
Software Update Includes
Android 4.4.2 (KitKat) offers improved performance and new features, highlights include:
New platform support for secure NFC-based transactions through Host Card Emulation (HCE).
Camera icon on the lock screen.
Printing support for apps.
New storage access framework – Simple for users to browse and open documents, images, and other files, across most customer preferred document storage providers.
Improved user experience when multiple messaging apps are installed – All SMS and MMS messages are together in the same app, alongside other conversations and video calls.
Visual content such as photos, videos, maps, books, and games are even better with full-screen immersive mode. The UI stays hidden while interacting with the content.
Better accessibility experience across apps with system-wide preference for closed captioning and subtitles support.
To turn on closed captioning go to Settings > Accessibility > Captions.
See beautiful full-screen album and movie art on the device lock screen if listening to music or watching movies. Users can play, pause, or seek to a specific moment.

This update is now only available via over the air, this is an update from last December’s Android 4.3 update build I317UCUBMK6. All you need is head-over to your AT&T Samsung Note 2 simply tap on Settings>>About Device>>Check for Update, then take it from there.
Just make sure your device battery is fully re-charge, the 4.4.2 KitKat update is a large file with 483MB in size and may take an hour to download and install. If you did not see an update yet, just be patient, updates usually rolling in stages or a first come first serve basis. Those who have had root, then you may not receive the update, but instead you may wait if someone can sideload and grab the OTA update zip file from where you can manually return back to stock and flash the 4.4.2 I317UCUCNE5 update firmware file via stock recovery.
