AT&T has pushed a Fix for Stagefright bug on Galaxy Note 4 and Galaxy Note edge

AT&T has pushed a software update on Galaxy Note 4 (SM-N910A) and Galaxy Note edge (SM-N915A).  The update is said to fix the “Stagefright” bug which is now one of the biggest security flaws on Android OS.  On the Galaxy Note 4 update, this will bump up the firmware build version to N910AUCU2COC6, while, on the other hand, the Galaxy Note edge will get the build version N915AUCU2BOC8. Both updates are officially rolling out via Over-The-Air (OTA) update beginning August 5th and might run for the span of two weeks.

In addition, the Stagefright bug fix is also sent out on AT&T’s Galaxy S5 (SM-G900A), as well as to its newer flagships such as the Galaxy S6 (SM-G920A) and Galaxy S6 edge (SM-G925A).  Other major U.S carriers like Sprint has also sent out the same update that fights against the Stagefright bug.  While Verizon and T-Mobile might follow as well these following days.

Update Summary       

On August 5, 2015, AT&T and Samsung released a software update for the Samsung Galaxy Note Edge. This update is made available via Firmware Over The Air (FOTA) using Wi-Fi.

The Galaxy Note 4 update is around at a hefty 154 MB file size while on the Galaxy Note edge update weighs at 197MB.  You may now check the update via Over The Air (OTA) by going to the Settings>About device>Software update>Check for an update.
The rolling out of the update is in stages, and not everyone may get the update at the same time. So make sure to keep on checking until you’ll that the update is available for grab.
