AT&T’s Galaxy Note 2 official Android 4.3 update has finally arrived! The 4.3 software update is being bundled in firmware build number I317UCUBMK6 and it’s now live via over-the-air. As you may know, there was a leak 4.3 that has been around there since last October. It may be hard to understand why AT&T’s Galaxy Note 2 is one of the last among of all U.S. carriers used to roll out the 4.3 update, but anyway it took only a couple days left-behind from T-Mobile’s Galaxy Note 2 (T889) 4.3 update and the most important thing is the 4.3 update is now finally available for grab.
The 4.3 I317UCUBMK6 OTA update might also includes the Galaxy Gear and KNOX compatibility support, from which these are the main features of the 4.3 OS. But aside from that, there are also numerous changes can be found on user’s interface, keyboard, application widgets, icons and more.
The Galaxy Gear support is a useful feature if you have had purchased the Samsung Galaxy Gear smartwatch, but its useless if you do not have one. So to enjoy this functionality support, you need to buy a Galaxy Gear which I think also available at AT&T store. The second one is KNOX, if it sounds like new to you, you may find the full description of this new application from Samsung’s website. KNOX is some kind of security apps which protects users personal data from any any 3rd-party apps with malicious intention and among other things.
Knox is also a big hiccup for advanced users who used to modifies their Galaxy Note 2, this includes from rooting, installing custom recovery and unsigned firmware. There is now this “Warranty Bit: 0” which technically a warranty void flag that once gets tripped, the device warranty will be gone for good. This counter cannot be undone or reset by any means by now, unless of-course only Samsung’s technician knows about it.
So again, this update is now available through over the air only, this is an update from previous 4.1.2 update build I317UCAMH3. All you need is head-over to your Note 2 Settings>>About Device>>Check for Update, then take it from there. Just make sure your device battery is fully re-charge, the 4.3 update is a huge file of around 695MB in size and may take hours upon downloading and installation. If you did not see an update yet, just be patient, updates usually rolling in stages or a first come first serve basis. We will try to gather more info about this update when AT&T or Samsung will release an official announcement about this Android 4.3 update build I317UCUBMK6 soon.
[Thank’s to Martin and to all of my XDA-Developers fellas for bringing this in]
